Leeds Silver Steel Sparrows hatched out in 1999. They are a Leeds youth steelband [part of City of Leeds Youth Music at Leeds ArtForms]. The Sparrows rehearse term time only at Meanwood Community Centre from 4.45 to 6.15 on Tuesdays, starting again after Lockdown on April 20 2021

Players should be generally be high school age, but younger players can be accepted, and do succeed.

The Sparrows play everywhere from local primary school summer fairs to Leeds Town Hall to St Paul's Cathedral, but we are careful not to put them on the big stages before they ready.

Band leader is Victoria Jaquiss, with support from Chris Greer.
