Leeds Silver Steel Sparrows hatched out in 1999. They were a Leeds youth steelband [part of City of Leeds Youth Music at Leeds ArtForms]. Now they are part of the Foxwood Panyard group of bands.Sparrows rehearse term time only at Meanwood Community Centre from 4.45 to 6.15 on Tuesdays, still rehearsing term time only.

Players should be generally be high school age, but younger players can be accepted, and do succeed.
The Sparrows play everywhere from local primary school summer fairs to Leeds Town Hall to St Paul's Cathedral, but we are careful not to put them on the big stages before they ready.
